I woke up in May and had to wonder if it was still January. Normally it would be spring as people got ready for summer. But, the ‘weather gods’ had probably had other things in mind. Snow in May? What was happening? Nothing like this had ever happened in Denver in a long time. That was a sure sign for me to know my heating system would remain on for another month or so. I had planned to spend the summer months doing a few tours of different attractions. My aunt came to visit last year and told me fascinating tales. It was like I was listening to stories about another place and not Denver, where I had lived for the past 5 years. Truth be told, most of my social life was grabbing a drink or dancing with friends. But, my boyfriend was a bit different. He did not like the clubs and was more adventurous. The first time I visited the area where I could view the Rocky Mountains, I was blown away. I sort of fell in love with the outdoors and promised we’d explore more in summer. But, when the snow was not yet over in May, I was unsure about those plans. No one wanted to go to such attractions and see a blanket of white. But knowing him, he would try and coerce me to join him either way. That was something we’d have to discuss in length because I did not fare too well in the cold. I was already picturing my aunt trying to convince me to go. Still, I could not believe it had been snowing since last September, and there seemed to be no end in sight.

The summer heat was scorching, but Denise was thankful she had good air conditioning in her car. Her hope was the hotel she had booked also put the same effort into their AC. Denise loved her room and opted to begin exploring 16th Street Mall that evening. She did her survey to take an evening stroll when the place was busy and had some food somewhere. During this stroll, she’d note some shops which she would come to explore later on. This strategy had worked well for her in many places, and she always managed to purchase excellent stuff. Another strategy was to time such a trip during the final weeks of summer when discounts were everywhere. Denise was amazed by the 16th Street Mall. All kinds of stores, restaurants, and activities were going on, which brought the whole area to life. Denise knew she would do some wonderful shopping for herself and her business in this location.

Unfortunately I had to go to a nearby college because of financial reasons, but I never forgot about Albuquerque and its geological sites. I’m taking a vacation this month to Albuquerque to visit the Petroglyph National Monument. There are locations with thousands of examples of prehistoric art, along with bones, tools, and other rare items that are all native to the area. I also decided to go hiking on the nearby Rinconada Canyon Trail. For a geologist like myself, the prehistoric monuments in Albuquerque are some of the most breathtaking locations in the country. If I could find a job at one of the many museums or any of the geological sites, I would move to Albuquerque in a heartbeat.

One of our number fave one things that I like to do on a dreary Winter afternoon is go to Busch Gardens.

Busch Gardens is a safari themed amusement park with rides and a zoo, made for families to enjoy. A lot of people visit Busch Gardens in Tampa when they come to visit Florida for their summer trips. In our opinion, the summer season is the worst time to visit any Florida tourist attraction. First of all, most places are seriously slammed while in the summer time season! Kids are out of university and parents are taking trips. The 2nd reason why summer time is the worst time to visit places like Busch Gardens in Tampa is because of the brutal Heat and the humidity. There is no access to a/c once you are inside the amusement park. The only spots with a/c are the eating establishments and gift shops. None of the ride lines are in sections with a/c, so you are forced to stand in line for 1 or 2 minutes in 95° uneven temperatures with 95% humidity. Most men are not expecting Busch Gardens or any of the other theme parks to be an annoyed experience, so add complaining and whining children to the afternoon. Those are the prime reasons why I don’t like to visit the theme parks while in the summer. The weather in Tampa during the “off” Winter season is absolutely quite mild and cool. In our humble opinion, this is the greatest time to hang out with friends and relax at one of the many Tampa Bay tourist attractions including Busch Gardens.
