You don’t need a medical marijuana card

I’m entirely happy that I’m residing in NM with legal recreational cannabis, because I used to live in the southeast where that wasn’t a reality.

While my beach house state implemented a medical marijuana program a few years ago, the conservative state government there stifled the program so much that you can’t buy the same kind of products that are available in dispensaries in sites like Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and La Cruces.

I went to visit for a few weeks recently and my best buddy was venting to myself and others about the situation there with cannabis. He says that you can’t even look at the products before you buy them. You can’t open jars of flower products, edibles, concentrates like hashish and rosin, or anything else for that matter. It’s a real sorry situation when the state government forces all of the packaging to be stark white as well, with easily not transparent containers. Some states have rules that let dispensaries use transparent jars that at least allow consumers to see the weed before they buy it. Perhaps the basket is sealed, but you can see the flower buds or the concentrate that you’re interested in. Things are much unusual here in Albuquerque, NM, and my favorite cannabis dispensaries are typically stocking their product menus with new items and strains I haven’t tried before. My favorite cannabis store is in Loma Del Ray on Montgomery Blvd. They have some of the best prices in the city, especially compared to some of the locations in Sandia Heights where weed prices are at their highest in the whole area.
