Moving to Portland was one of my best decisions. I like to spend as much time outdoors as possible. While there’s lots of rain, there’s rarely a downpour that forces me indoors. Whenever I have some free time, I like to visit Forest Park. Just west of downtown, there are over 5,100 acres of hills and evergreens and trails to explore. It stretches along the eastern slope of the Tualatin Mountains and is a great place to hike at all times of year. Another favorite spot is the International Rose Test Garden. There’s over four miles of flowerbeds, fountains and lawns and over 700 varieties of roses. From April to September the profusion of colors and sweet scents are unbelievable. I also appreciate access to legal, adult-use cannabis. I can easily ride my bike to the dispensary and shop a wide variety of cannabis products. I prefer the smokeless consumption options that I can easily bring along on an excursion. Tinctures are great because the bottle fits into a pocket. I can place a few drops of a tincture under my tongue without worrying about drawing attention. There’s no smoke, odors or ash.
