I’m really ecstatic that I’m living in NM with legal recreational cannabis, because I used to live in the southeast where that wasn’t a reality.
- While my lake home state implemented a medical marijuana program a few years ago, the conservative state government there stifled the program so much that you can’t buy the same kind of products that are available in dispensaries in sites enjoy Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and La Cruces.
I went to visit for a few weeks recently and my best friend was venting to me about the situation there with cannabis. She says that you can’t even look at the products before you buy them. You can’t open jars of flower products, edibles, concentrates enjoy hashish and rosin, or anything else for that matter. It’s a real sorry situation when the state government forces all of the packaging to be stark white as well, with really not transparent containers. Some states have rules that let dispensaries use transparent jars that at least allow consumers to see the weed before they buy it. Perhaps the tote is sealed, but you can see the flower buds or the concentrate that you’re interested in. Things are much weird here in Albuquerque, NM, and my number one cannabis dispensaries are constantly stocking their product menus with new items and strains I haven’t tried before. My number one cannabis store is in Loma Del Ray on Montgomery Blvd. They have some of the best prices in the city, especially compared to some of the locations in Sandia Heights where weed prices are at their highest in the whole area.
