Relieved that medical cannabis is legal

I was really excited when recreational weed was finally legalized in Illinois.

I was anxious to head to the dispensary and check out the options.

Living in Chicago, I have several cannabis shops to choose from. I have shopped at all of them and tried nearly every type of consumption method. Since my purpose for using cannabis is more about the curative properties than psychoactive effects, I’m mainly interested in high CBD products. I have become a regular at the dispensary that offers the widest selection of CBD. They include all sorts of really great edibles and beverages. I can purchase colas, sparkling seltzers, cannabeer and mocktails. I am a fan of the gummies, chocolates, cookies and peanut butter cups. I’ve come up with my own recipes using cannabis-infused oils and cannabutters. The disposable carts are also an easy way to get fast-acting effects. All I need to do is push a button and inhale. There’s none of the carcinogens, ash, smoke or odors associated with smoking flower, and I get an even higher concentration of cannabinoids and terpenes. One of my favorite methods is topicals. The dispensary sells roll-ons, transdermal patches, sprays, lotions, balms and ointments that provide localized treatment of bug bites, cuts, bruises, arthritis, psoriasis, aches and inflammation. Because the topicals are infused with essential oils such as lavender, eucalyptus and rosemary, they tend to smell really lovely. I can use topicals with a higher THC level to benefit from analgesic effects and yet there’s no worry over getting high. It’s just such a relief to be able to take advantage of the holistic properties of cannabis without needing a prescription from a doctor.
