Learning how to use concentrates

I’ve been shopping cannabis since recreational medicinal weed was legalized in Michigan and the first dispensary opened in Ann Arbor.

I was delighted when recreational marijuana finally legalized.

Now, anyone 21 years of age or older can purchase a wide variety of products. My favorite dispensary in Ann Arbor offers an impressive selection of flowers, pre-rolls and vapes. Their menu of edibles offers everything from chocolates, gummies and brownies to beverages, butters and oils. Until recently, I was intimidated by the concentrates. Concentrates are created through an extraction process that separates the excess plant material from the trichomes. The trichomes are where the cannabinoids and terpenes are found. They are responsible for the flavor, potency and effects. The majority of concentrates contain extremely high THC levels. However, this means it takes less of the concentrate to achieve the same effects as smoking flower or eating an edible. Concentrate oils can be vaped or dabbed. The dry kief can be sprinkled onto a pre-roll to boost the flavor and potency. I was interested in dabbing. The process seemed difficult and requires specialized gear. Fortunately, the dispenary in Ann Arbor includes a dab lounge. I was able to rent the gear and get the advice and assistance of a knowlegeable budtender. I started with a very small dose of a concentrate with equal parts THC and CBD. The experience was fantastic. There are huge benefits to such a concentrated dosage of cannabinoids. I felt the effects almost immediately. I now can shop a wide range of wax, shatter, budder, sauce, hash and diamonds in a nearly endless election of hybrids, indicas and sativas.
