Hybrid heating is perfect in South Bend

South Bend, IN has some of the best weather in my opinion, but i care about that we get four distinct seasons… There is a opportunity of a white Christmas, seeing changing leaves, blooming flowers, and having a tepid summer.

I care about the fact that for three months out of the year, the record high won’t go past 85 degrees. The coldest we can get is the nighttime temperatures being in the 20s, but yes, that is periods of tepid and cold, but for the most part the weather is quite moderate, then due to this, I rely on a heat pump system for most of the year. I technically own what is called a hybrid boiler. This combines a ductless heat pump and a gas boiler! For most of the year the heat pump is the one working to achieve whole household temperature control, then how the heat pump works is by taking existing heat energy and either pushing or pulling it into the house. It is cleaner, quieter, and better for the environment, then on the actually chilly mornings during the winter, the fuel source changes from electric to gas automatically. I don’t have to push a button. The gas boiler fires up and I feel perfectly warm! So for a vast majority of the year I am saving quite a bit of energy. I don’t have to sacrifice comfort. In South Bend you can’t entirely get by with just a heat pump. Having a supplemental heating source is entirely a superb addition. I care about that I don’t have to freeze late at night.
