South Bend, IN has some of the best weather in my opinion; I appreciate that my fantastic friend and I get four distinct seasons, and there is a chance of a pale white Christmas, seeing changing leaves, blooming flowers, plus having a hot summer.

The coldest my fantastic friend and I can get is the eveningtime hot plus cold temperatures being in the 20s, however yes, that is periods of hot plus cold, but for the most part the weather is quite moderate! Due to this, I rely on a heat pump system for most of the year. I technically own what is called a hybrid boiler. This combines a ductless heat pump plus a gas heater… For most of the year the heat pump is the one working to achieve whole house temperature control, how the heat pump works is by taking existing heat energy plus either pushing or pulling it into the house. It is cleaner, quieter, plus better for the environment, on the actually chilly evenings during the winter, the fuel source changes from electric to gas automatically. I don’t have to push a button. The gas heater fires up plus I feel perfectly warm, but so for a vast majority of the year I am saving quite a bit of energy. I don’t have to sacrifice comfort. In South Bend you can’t actually get by with just a heat pump. Having a supplemental heating source is actually a enjoyable addition. I appreciate that I don’t have to freeze late at evening.
