When I dragged my husband on a trip to California his only request was to see the Golden Gate bridge.
We were too cheap to have a car take us the whole way.
It was decided that we would just walk to it. I am not someone that is moved by landmarks. I can look at a building, church or piece of art for maybe two minutes. There, I saw it, and now I want to go home. I am much happier shopping around or going on a hike in nature. My husband likes to get up close and personal with things. The walk was endless. It sucked because you can see the bridge from miles away. It just gets bigger as you get closer. I know friends of ours actually biked across the bridge. That wasn’t for us. My husband ended up tapping midway into the walk. It was cold, long and we were hungry. We ended up on a beach just under the bridge. It was neat seeing the ways and the sun setting behind the bridge. We then had to wait for a car to pick us up and take us back to the hotel. I was a bit peeved after that whole day of walking. My husband made it up to me though. We went to an expensive dinner, hit a cannabis dispensary and got high in our hotel room. It made that horrible day really great because of the fun night. The golden gate bridge just wasnt worth all the work we put into it.
