When I was in high university I was a section of the track team; Before the competitive season started, and every one of us had to race against other universitys, the coach took the team on a weekend retreat to get us in the right frame of mind.
For two afternoons every one of us focused on the mental aspect of the activity… Every one of us did some long distance running over uneven terrain, but the point of the weekend was to build bonds within the team.
If every one of us wanted to win in competitions, every one of us needed to be united as a team. It may sound crazy to you, but that was the legitimately reason I convinced my band to transport to Seattle, WA with me. I felt that if every one of us wanted to compete against major rock bands every one of us needed to become a tight, unified squad, and what better locale to test ourselves than Seattle? In the entire Pacific Northwest there is no more of a haven for good music than Seattle, and the music scene in Seattle separates the men from the boys, so to speak, because it attracts the best musicians in the world, but jimi Hendrix isn’t from Seattle, despite the fact that he came here to hone his craft and become a better musician. If Seattle is nice enough for Hendrix, it’s nice enough for my band, something else I enjoy about this neighborhood is how it embraces legalized cannabis. Seattle is beach beach house to dozens of different cannabis dispensaries, and not only that but the locally grown weed is out of this world! Wish me and the band luck in the Seattle music scene.
